Who We Are

Our School at a Glance

Beginning with the 2020–2021 school year, Indiana Gateway Digital Academy (INGDA) will serve students statewide in grades K–11. As with all public schools, INGDA is available to Indiana residents.

INGDA offers a comprehensive online program, including a rigorous curriculum, an innovative learning management system, a full suite of academic and support services, and a Career Technical Education (CTE) exploratory course for middle school and high school students, with approved plans to offer career pathways in the coming years.

Certified Teachers Trained in Online Learning

All INGDA students will interact with one or more Indiana-licensed teachers (depending on grade level) and communicate regularly with their teachers through email, telephone, online synchronized sessions, direct instruction, and regular outings. Teachers will work with students and Learning Coaches (a parent or other responsible adult) in core courses to oversee and assist the students as they work through the year's curriculum.

Each family will receive instructional materials, including a wide array of textbooks, CDs, DVDs, and other hands-on educational materials.* These materials will complement the interactive online elements of the student’s courses, ensuring that students receive instruction using the best method for each subject.

Dedicated Teacher Support

In grades K–5, the Learning Coach (a parent or other responsible adult) works closely with the teacher to help facilitate the student's progress and to modify the student’s pace and schedule as needed. At the middle and high school levels, the Learning Coach will be less involved as students take more responsibility for their own learning and work more often at a collective pace with their classmates in teacher-led sessions. In addition, networking opportunities are provided through various events and outings, enabling the entire school community to connect.

Personalized Learning, Public School Accountability

INGDA will allow students to learn in the ways that are right for them. The key will be a personalized approach that focuses on the student’s unique learning strengths, needs, goals, and interests. In addition to providing personalized learning, INGDA will provide the structure, administrative support, oversight, accountability, and state testing required of all Indiana public schools.
