Preparing Middle School Students for College and Career
Our career and college prep program helps middle school students begin considering more long-term goals by discovering their interests in various career fields. Students take career exploration courses to get a broad overview of job fields, progressing from general information to more in-depth study into specific career opportunities. This insight will help them better choose a career pathway in high school, giving them a competitive edge for college and careers. Students in the program can also connect with industry professionals through live online sessions and participate in field trips and career clubs.

Reading & Writing Curricula; Remedial Programs
Currently INGDA Middle School is using Amplify (CKLA) as part of the approved science of reading curriculum approved by the IDOE. This curriculum aligned with the weekly usage of the RACE Strategy (Restate, Answer, Cite, Explain) has been a primary focus for improving reading comprehension along with standardized test scores. Furthermore, weekly RTI class sessions are targeted to improve upon standards based best practices with quarterly assessments being provided to alter Tier Level Supports.
Progress Learning, Amplify, RTI Benchmark Assessments, and ILEARN Checkpoints 6-8. Achievement goals have been identified to improve quarterly RTI Assessments by 5% from the formative pre-test to their summative post-test that is administered on a quarterly basis. Furthermore, INGDA Middle Schools Achievement Goal linked to standardized test (ILEARN) has been set at 3% annual growth year over year. INGDA Middle School will use ILEARN checkpoints as part of our BOY, MOY, & EOY benchmark Assessments. Furthermore, INGDA MS will use Progress Learning for both remediation and as a means to identify and track RTI quarterly placements and growth. These assessments are linked to state academic standards, and the links below identify specific ILEARN Checkpoint Standards covered during each assessment window.
